The members of the board of Friends of Conkling Hall are calling for the Hilltowns Community to participate in a peaceful solidarity march in Rensselaerville to celebrate Flag Day and to express support for ending systemic racism. We join the African American Community in their call for an equitable criminal justice system and equity in health care, education, and housing. We will assemble at 2PM outdoors at Conkling Hall for sign making and march shortly after through the village, to the intersection of SR 85 and Methodist Hill Road, and back to Conkling Hall, a total of about 1 3/4 miles.
We ask all marchers to wear masks and maintain 6 feet of social distance.
Community members with impaired mobility are welcome to remain outside at Conkling Hall while others march.
At the end of the march, we will assist those who wish to do so in making lawn signs to create personal messages to bring home. Please bring any lawn sign materials you may have to help out with this.
We hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
John Arrighi, Diane Baillargeon,
